Ansbert and Nerteley met back in March 2012 at Nerteley's Niece's Naming Ceremony. A year earlier, Ansbert had noticed Nerteley at her sisters Traditional Engagement and had his eyes on her, but Nerteley was not aware of this. At Nerteley’s Nieces Naming Ceremony, they didn't actually speak much, but Ansbert remembers being in the kitchen and Nerteley walking in, in a white dress and boots which Nerteley insists she was not wearing! In her words... "Who wears a white dress with those kind of boots that you're talking about". 

Ansbert wanted to get to know her but was unsure on how to approach her directly - so he had to think of a way he could get her details...

As he was leaving, he approached Nerteley’s sister and said he would like to send some Mothercare vouchers as a gift for the newborn (he was working at Mothercare at the time), but he cheekily suggested that he could send the vouchers to Nerteley via Facebook. Nerteley's sister understood the assignment and asked Nerteley to add Ansbert on Facebook.

They both added each other on Facebook and messaged each other at the same time! They hit it off straight away and went on their first date of bowling and dinner. It was clear that they enjoyed each others company, so they began dating.

Life happens in unexpected ways and unfortunately, Ansbert and Nerteley decided to go their separate ways.

During their time apart, both completed their Masters degree, got new jobs, moved out into their own places and went through considerable growth as individuals, both personally and spiritually. 

After 6 years of being apart, Ansbert and Nerteley met again in 2018 at a family event where Ansbert had been hired as the Photographer. 

They hit if off straight away and were reminded of the good times they spent together back in 2012. They decided to stay in contact, exchanged numbers again and went on subsequent dates until they finally made it official. They have had some of the most enjoyable experiences together, getting to know each other, growing together and learning more and more about each other each day.
